What is sovereign birth?
Sovereign birth recognizes the mother as the highest authority over her birthing experience, and recognizes birth as a normal (non-medical) event. The sovereign mother will birth in the absence of anyone who subverts her authority – only those who defer to the sovereign mother in all decision making will be present.

My Story
My name is Ash Anderson.
I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee and have called the Los Angeles South Bay my home for the majority of my adult life. I have two beautiful children spaced 6.5 years apart and I have been married to my husband since 2014. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, sourdough baker, cat lover, and coffee snob.
The birth of my first daughter opened my eyes to the beauty, mystery, and power of birth and motherhood. My daughter’s birth was an unnecessarily augmented labor in a hospital under the care of a midwife and her attending obstetrician, after the firing of an obstetric group that continually showed no respect for me as the birthing mother at 36 weeks into my pregnancy. Following the anxiety of pregnancy under standard obstetric care and the ordeal of induced labor in a hospital, I accepted the narrative that motherhood is depleting and continued in my career as a human factors engineer.
Over the next five years, I changed my perspective on many topics related to mothering and birth based on my personal experience, as well as the experiences of other mothers I know. I recognized that my, and many others, experience could not possibly be the way birth and mothering was meant to be, and my discovery of the sovereign birth paradigm confirmed all that I intuitively knew: birth is a normal physiological part of life and mothering is meant to be rejuvenating and fulfilling. The cultural lies around birth and motherhood lost their grip.
When I became pregnant with my second child, I decided to experience his gestation as a divine mystery and blessing, and declined any recognition of it as a medical event. My daughter’s time in utero was unnaturally infringed upon via ultrasound and Doppler. She entered the world in the presence of synthetic substances coursing through our veins, bright lights, and gloved strangers. She was taken away and passed around a cold, frantic hospital suite as she opened her eyes for the first time. By contrast, my son existed peacefully and unobserved in the womb. He was born into the hands of his father in a dark, quiet, warm bedroom. He knew nothing but rest and security in his mother’s arms as he entered this life.
Following almost a decade in my career as an engineer focused on reminding the world what it is to be human, and after the free birth of my second child, I decided to devote my time to helping other mothers recognize their inherent power to bring forth their children in peace and sovereignty – as we women were created to do.
I am a graduate of the Radical Birth Keeper School by the Free Birth Society and am a student of the MatriBirth Midwifery Institute. I apply aspects of Christianity, conscious living, German New Medicine, flower essences, homeopathy, and herbalism in my holistic approach to life.

I would love to meet with you in person in the LA South Bay / Beach City region, or virtually no matter where you are!
As a Radical Birth Keeper School graduate, I coach wild pregnancy and sovereign birth in alignment with the MatriBirth and Portal blissful birth program philosophies. I apply Christianity, conscious living, German New Medicine, flower essences, homeopathy, and herbalism in my holistic approach to life and birth.

Multi Session Coaching
Three 60 Minute Sessions
$450
Multi session coaching can function as a bespoke childbirth education class, one coaching session each trimester, or final birth preparation series. This package can be upgraded to full pregnancy support upon request.
Wild Pregnancy Coaching
Eleven Sessions + Off-hour Support
$1750
This service is curated for the woman planning a wild pregnancy and sovereign birth. We will discuss the birth process and newborn and postpartum expectations in detail, concepts of fear and surrender, and conscious living.

If you want to check in a few times during pregnancy or have a series of topics that you would like a little more time to discuss, the multi-session package is for you.

Our conversation will follow your lead and I will provide a resource list for any sources I reference. Multi session coaching can function as a bespoke childbirth education class. Wild Pregnancy Coaching
Eleven Sessions + Off-hour Support
$1750
Three prenatal connection sessions each trimester plus two “fourth trimester” sessions for post birth support, and an optional men-only partner call with my husband. This package can be modified to an increased frequency if coaching begins in the second or third trimesters.
